I spritzed the cuttlebug panel with Cosmic Shimmer spray and added some peel-offs.  It looks nice and shimmery in RL.

This is one of my favourite Sarah Kay stamps and I used it a lot last  year.  It was not until I had finished colouring her with Lyra crayons that I decided to use pink card and I like it, I may make a few more pink cards for Christmas this year.

I used the pop up snowflake punch again but just cut them out instead of having them as pop up snowflakes.

and like the last card I cut out the stamped image and put her on a cuttlebuged background.

Souffle Duck

Posted in challenges, Rubber Stamping, Spellbinders tagged , , , , , at 12:17 pm by Sue

Another challenge, I do like these challenges.  This one is for the Crafters Companion blog.

http://itsacrafterscompanion.blogspot.com/

Here is the sketch

There is also a theme, the card is to be for a child/teenager/young adult.  I have a friend who’s granddaughter is mad about Souffle duck so I have made a card with her in mind.

Here is my card

cc2

I stamped and coloured Souffle with Lyra watercolour crayons.  It was impossible to cut out the string without leaving white areas, I do not like white areas so I cut off the string and label. Re-stamped the string and tag onto the orange paper used for the circle background and cut it out, glued the white tag on top ot the orange  tag.  That way when I attached him to the circle there are no white areas.  If I had not cuttlebuged the circle I could just have stamped onto the circle but I wanted the texture behind him.

I also coloured the edge of the cuttlebugged circle with brown ink for a bit of definition.

Snowflake Santa

Posted in Rubber Stamping, Spellbinders tagged , , at 1:03 am by Sue

I love this stamp and have the wood mounted one then I saw some clear stamp sets with different size santa’s.  Here is the smallest one

snowflake santa

I also use a new snowflake punch I brought last week, it does not punch out the snowflake completely but makes it ‘pop-up’.  It’s great I can see me using it a lot on my Christmas cards this year.  Here are the snowflakes

img041

I punched three on the main piece of white card and then punched and cut out four more and added a little gem to the centre of each of them.

img042

I added a clear gloss to the lenses of Santa’s glasses but unfortunately the scan does not show it very well but you can see the glitter I added.  I did not want to colour Santa but did add blue to his eyes.

The Santa Stamp is from Habico.  Curved Rectangle nestabilities. Cuttlebug Snowflake Embossing Folder.  EK Success Pop-up Snowflake.

A new sketch from Sweet Sketch Wednesday

Here is my card

Oh dear the scan does not look very good, I think I may have to look at using the camera to take photo’s of my cards, not sure why some look alright and other don’t.

I used a Penny Black stamp image stamp coloured with Lyra crayons.  Aspects of Design word sentiment stamp. Nestabilities scalloped ovals and heart die-cut.  Cuttlebug bubble embossing folder.  The flowery paper I inked around the edges lightly using cut and dry foam.

Blue and Yellow

Posted in Rubber Stamping tagged , , at 12:54 am by Sue

I said I would make a bight card next.  You cannot get much brighter then this card.  I do love blue and yellow together, reminds me of the sea and golden sandy beaches.

blue and yellow

Everything I used was blue or yellow even the grass became green by putting blue Lyra crayon on the yellow paper.  The stamps are from a Rubbadubbadoo set called Coastal Summer and I stamped the beach scene twice, once on blue paper the second time onto yellow paper.  I cut out the boat sails ad the sun from the yellow and put onto the blue image then coloured the grass on the yellow image and cut out the beach and grass section and added them to the blue image.  I also used the swirl cuttlebug embossing folder and the curved rectangles nestabilities.

Don’t wear white when gardening

Posted in 3D decoupage, Rubber Stamping, Snowman tagged , , , , at 1:13 am by Sue

When I was walking Charlie the dog this morning we went past a shop selling plants and I saw some lovely blue bedding plants so I brought some.  The part of the garden I wanted to plant them in is in the shade until about mid-morning so I decided to plant them as soon as I got in, before the sun reached them.  I watered the flowerbed, planted the plants, watered them in and then realised that I was in such a hurry that I had not changed.  My lovely white skirt was not very white when I had finished. LOL  Never mind the plants look nice, not sure what they are called as I forgot to ask and there was no plant label in them.

Anyway I did make a card today.  I used the new Crafter’s Companion Popcorn CD.  I do love popcorn he is so cute.

popcorn1

I used the decoupage popcorn but cut off the oval he was on as I wanted to use the curved rectangle nestabilities.  I had some ribbon that matched his blanket to finish the card.

Thank you for all the comments you left after my first post.
